Security Awareness Programs and Training Programs

We believe that any successful security program must have the buy-in of all employees and tenants (where applicable). Security Awareness must become an integral part of every employee's job. A Shopping Center can significantly improve security while enhancing the marketing appeal of the mall but promulgating a Security Awareness Program. A Hospital will substantially improve both employee and patient safety with a targeted Security Awareness Program. High-rise Office buildings will improve security and significantly reduce premises liability exposure by passing some responsibility for maintaining crime free workplace to the tenants. Any facility that is generally open to the public should institute a Security Awareness Program, if for no other reason than reducing liability.

If your security program is limited to security guards, security alarm systems, security lighting, security lock systems, and CCTV, you are probably reducing your threat by no more than 50%. For very little additional funding, the remaining void can and should be filled with a customized Security Awareness Program.

The way to ensure the full participation of all employees is through the development of an ongoing dynamic Security Awareness Program. The is the single most cost effective security methodology, which should be implemented by every business. This is especially true for commercial facilities.

This program should demand the full participation of the entire employee population with the goal of a safe and secure workplace. Ask yourself these questions: "Is it best to rely on cameras to be the eyes of your security program?" "Would it be better for each employee to not only be the eyes but also the ears of your security program?" "Which of these choices is the most cost effective?"
