Security Management Services International, Inc. Partners with IncidentReports, Inc., to Enhance Virtual Security Management

THOUSAND OAKS, CA (February 19, 2004) - Virtual security management is a relatively new field, allowing businesses to enjoy the services of a seasoned security professional without the requisite six-figure price tag. Now, two of the industry's pioneers are teaming up to redefine state-of-the-art: Security Management Services International, Inc. (SMSI, www.smsiinc.com) today announced that its virtual security management service (VSM) has implemented the IncidentReports ASP service (IR), the patent-pending incident reporting and case management software solution by IncidentReports, Inc. (www.incidentreports.com).

"IncidentReports provides the vehicle that allows me to offer VSM, " said SMSI founder, president and CEO Bill Nesbitt, CPP, a 30-year veteran of the security industry. "Many businesses could periodically use the services of a security consultant, but often the cost is prohibitive. Thanks to this partnership, SMSI can now provide any business with high-quality, ongoing security management expertisewithout major expense."

Using IR, Nesbitt conducts an initial on-site security assessment, customizing the IR environment to each client's physical location and particular needs. The client can then enter incidents as they occur, and Nesbitt's team monitors the reports online to spot problems brewing and suggest preventative measures. When the client makes recommended changes, the IR software allows SMSI to revisit the trouble spot and measure improvement.

Nesbitt, who is frequently called upon as an expert witness in lawsuits where security is called into question, predicts the IR system will also help security officers complete more legally defensible incident reports. "One of the big problems with general incident reports is that not all security officers are able to articulate, communicate and write reports," Nesbitt explained. "If something goes wrong, those reports get subpoenaed, and if they are all hacked up and hard to read, it really paints a bad picture of the security program in question. With our VSM approach, the IR to a large extent can be filled out via point-and-click, ensuring every IR answers how, what, why, when, where."

"VSM doesn't require approval to hire, doesn't require additional headcount, and it leverages today's available technology to put a Board Certified Protection Professional on the case at nearly any business," stated Mitch Gainey, founder, president and CEO of IncidentReports, Inc. "We are committed to providing unmatched incident reporting and case management software solutions for the asset and risk management industries."

SMSI Announces the Newest Member of its Security Team, Dick Sem, CPP

THOUSAND OAKS, CA (August 1, 2001) - SMSI Inc., a security consulting firm recently announced that it has added Dick Sem, CPP to its distiguished team of security professionals.

The newest member of the SMSI Team, Dick Sem, CPP, will add additional clout to the to the already high level of security expertise provided by this security consulting firm. Mr. Sem is based in the Chicago area and will enable SMSI to have a greater presence in the Midwest. His diverse security background will provide additional capability for SMSI to meet the expanding needs of our healthcare security clients. Dick will also be the driving force behind SMSI's American School Security division. American School Security is dedicated to reducing and preventing the level of violence in both public and private schools, K through 12. American School Security believes that now is the time to apply the 125 years of accumulative experience in dealing with violence in the workplace, to the school system environment. The likelihood of, even minor acts of violence, resulting in a lawsuit against the school district, is on a sharp rise. Our goal is to reduce that risk before its too late.

American School Security performs school district security audits and develops appropriate, cost efficient remedies, aimed at identifying potential problems early with effective intervention strategies. We offer effective tracking programs as well as year round security management support. School security programs must not remain stagnant. They must be dynamic and continually revised in order to remain contemporary, and therefore, effective. American School Security will develop prevention solutions that consider the involvement of parents, faculty, and students, as well as, local law enforcement. School security programs must deter all types of criminal behavior on school property. These programs must also support discipline.

We believe crisis management plans are an important component of any school security program. However, our goal is to squarely place the emphasis on detection and prevention in order to avoid both major as well as minor acts violence that victimize children, parents, and school employees.

SMSI Inc. Provides Security Expertise to Two Prestigious Medical Facilities

THOUSAND OAKS, CA (MARCH 22, 2001) - SMSI Inc., a security consulting firm recently announced that it has been privileged over the last few months with the engagement of providing its services to two of the most prestigious hospitals in the United States: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital of Stanford University Medical Center, which includes Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.

These hospitals, located in Palo Alto, California and Memphis, Tennessee, present unique security challenges.

Bill Nesbitt, the president of SMSI stated; "Both of these hospitals place a high premium in maintaining a secure environment for their clients, visitors, and staff. Having engaged SMSI's services, it is obvious that they are committed to maintaining a strong security foundation that is unique to each facility. Both of these hospitals clearly reflect the notion that 'one size does not fit all,' when it comes to implementing a secure environment. We at SMSI understand, as do these hospitals, that all security programs are very individual and subject to regional differences. Both hospitals understand the need for the security program to be effective, while at the same time, enhancing their image to the community they serve."

Paul Watkins, J.D., the Administrator, Support Services of Stanford University Medical Center had this to day; "The SMSI team understands the need to achieve a delicate balancing act between sound security practices and a security programthat is not overly intrusive. SMSI also knows that security methodologies do not lend themselves to universal standards, because, unlike safety programs, security programs are highly situational. This is why each hospital must be assessed on its own merits."
